Sleight School Lesson Guidelines
To help every lesson run smoothly and make the most of your time with your tutor, students are asked to follow the guidelines below when booking or attending an online lesson through Sleight School.
Be on Time
Please join your lesson on time, or even a few minutes early if you can. Starting promptly helps you and your tutor make the most of your full session. If you are running late, just send a quick message through the platform so your tutor knows what to expect.
Set Yourself Up for Success
Try to join from a quiet space where you can focus without interruptions. Silencing your phone, closing unrelated tabs, and limiting distractions will help you stay engaged and get more value from your lesson time.
Use a Clear Camera Setup
A good camera setup makes a big difference in online magic instruction. Please position your camera so your tutor can clearly see your hands, props, and practice area, and make sure your lighting and audio are good before the lesson begins. A stable internet connection and a focused camera will help everything run more smoothly.
Come Prepared
Please have any materials you may need ready before the lesson starts, such as cards, coins, props, a notebook, or anything your tutor requested. If you were given practice notes or homework from a previous lesson, reviewing them ahead of time will help you make faster progress.
Respect the Lesson Content
Many lessons may include techniques, routines, presentations, or ideas that are valuable to the tutor and meant for your personal learning. Please do not record, screenshot, share, publish, or teach lesson content without your tutor's permission. Respecting the privacy of the lesson helps protect your tutor's work and keeps the learning environment trustworthy for everyone.
Cancel or Reschedule Early
If you need to cancel or move a lesson, please do so at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible. This gives your tutor time to adjust their schedule and makes it easier to offer lesson times fairly to other students. Late cancellations may result in a lost lesson fee or lesson credit.
Be Respectful and Engaged
Sleight School is built on respectful, positive learning relationships. Students are expected to be courteous, attentive, and professional during lessons. Disruptive, abusive, harassing, or inappropriate behavior is not acceptable and may result in the lesson being ended or access to the platform being limited.
Keep Communication Clear
Please use the Sleight School messaging system for scheduling, lesson planning, learning goals, and other lesson-related questions unless told otherwise. Clear and timely communication helps your tutor prepare well and support your progress.
Reach Out if Something Goes Wrong
If you run into technical issues, concerns about a lesson, or anything else that needs support, please contact support@sleightschool.com. Students are encouraged to test their setup before each lesson so small issues do not get in the way of learning.
A Few Additional Notes
- Your lesson begins and ends at the scheduled time, so arriving late may shorten your session.
- If you miss a lesson without notice, it may be treated as a no-show.
- Please do not allow anyone else to record, monitor, or sit in on the lesson unless permission has been given in advance.
- By booking a lesson, you agree to follow platform policies, tutor instructions, and these lesson guidelines.
By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these guidelines.
